In Igbo language, Ogazi is the Guineafowl, which is a name given to the beautiful fowl that originated in West Africa. In Igbo spirituality, Guineafowls are very sacred, and no ritual is performed with them. Nnechukwu - the mother of the universe is often hailed as Nne Ogazi. Thus the Guinea fowl is one of her sacred zoomorphic forms as the mother of fertility, abundance, new beginnings, renewal, good fortune, protection, care, and love.
