Igbo African Spirituality: Onu Okpogho / Nne Ogbolodo / Nne Chukwu Muru Uwa by Sirius Ugo Art

Long before scientists ever knew of the existence of the Sirius star system, and long before any equipment existed that could verify its position in the heavens (Enu Igwe), ancient Igbo knew that behind the brilliant star that is Sirius A (Ose Oture), lay a dark, shadow star – a black star that is much smaller and more intense. Ancient Igbo people called it many names. Some of the ancient Igbo names for Sirius B are Ogbolodo, Onu Okpoho (Portal of Copper), Onu Anwu (Portal of the sun), Onu Akwu (Portal of the celestial water of creation), Nne Iyi (Mother of the celestial water) and many others. Onu or Onunu is the Igbo word for watery hole or ravine. Ancient Igbo spiritual science understood Sirius B as the place that Komosu gave birth to her child Ụwa, which is the entire universe and our solar system. So Sirius B is the birth canal of the supreme mother of the universe - Nnechukwu Muru Uwa. Many other ancient civilizations, such as the Dogon also gained the knowledge of this sacred star. These ancients observed that Sirius was the source of all life, of all energy, and yet detailed knowledge of Sirius and its dwarf star (Anwu Ushi) has only recently been discovered by modern science.

It is also important to note that Okpoho / Okpogho the ancient West African word for money is actually an Igbo word. There are places in Igboland called Okpoho. And long before the world discovered copper and iron, ancient Igbo people were already working with these elements to do so many things. Before we had Di Ma Uzu, we had Nne ma Uzu, also known as Nne Uzu, mother of Blacksmith. And Okpoho/Okpogho means original money and Copper in Igbo language. Ancient Igbo traded this element to the rest of West Africa.

This art by Sirius Ugo shows Nnechukwu Komosu giving birth to our solar system through Onu Okpogho / Ogbolodo which is Sirius B
