Ofo na Ogu is the ancient and modern Igbo sacred concept of truth and justice. Ofo na ogu puts an end to all abominations. Mgbe Enu Bu Ana Osa, every family owned ofo na ogu. Ofor na ogu unites and maintain peace and harmony throughout the family. Ogu is the principle of justice which leads the actions of people and spirits. It is more of a metaphysical concept than a physical object. Ogu stands for innocence, and can be symbolized by anything, be it a stick, a stone, or a white feather, like the feathers of Ma'at. It is invoked when a person is enumerating the injuries done to him/her by another person, while declaring his own innocence. The goddess that is inbetween the scale is Nne Mma / Nne Oma / Nne Ofo, Oma Ana. She is the image of various Ofo Staffs. She is the goddess of morality, truth and justice. Maat of Nubia and Kemet is an embodiment of Nne Oma / Nne Mma. Nne Ofo/ Nne Mma represents the Libra constellation.
